Morning y’all! Last week was ridiculously cold in Lubbock and it’s finally back to the 70’s so I’m really praying it stays that way and that the crazy wind and cold days are behind us. I’m counting down the DAYS until Spring Break and heading somewhere even warmer. [Read more…]

I made it back to Dallas late last night and instantly crashed. NYC was amazing and full of memories as usual but, I’m exhausted from it haha. I have to work today and then back to bed I go!! I have some blog posts from my trip coming soon too.
I’m headed out to a resort in a few weeks and I thought I would share with y’all some inspiration I had for that. Topshop is the ultimate destination for anyone with different styles! They have your grunge looks and they have your super girly beach wear looks! I’m dying to hit the beach soon so I was so excited to get some of these items in. This sun dress is adorable. As you can see, it shows quite a bit of your chest area so I would definitely only wear this with a bathing suit underneath it again. But the open back and tassel detail at the front is so summery with a light material so you aren’t dying in the heat. It’s a quick and easy dress to throw on at any time of the day whether you’re on the beach, hanging at your resort, or at the pool in your backyard.
Let’s talk about accessories. All the ones I’m wearing in these photos? They’re accessory MUSTS! (and perfect for a fabulous resort vacation) I’ve been such an accessory kind-of girl lately. Seriously though…. I’ve been non-stop buying earrings and necklaces and even hats! I noticed that I gravitate towards blue/teal colored earrings. I think they remind me of the ocean so that’s why I am always buying that color. These earrings scream tropical, fiesta, ocean, gorgeous tile, etc. I love the beading and of course the color scheme. They’re very affordable as well! I grabbed this white beach hat, some cute block heels and added my monogram necklace. The outfit came together perfectly and gave me such vacation envy. I don’t know about y’all but I’m ready to hit the resort, beach, and sip pina coladas underneath a palm tree asap.

Happy Friday loves!
I’ve been a little MIA on the blog this week…. I’ve been moving all of my stuff home and getting situated back into the work grind so I’ve taken the last week to focus on myself. But that’s out of the way now and I’ll be posting more than ever on the blog this summer. I’m headed to NYC tomorrow with my best friend so tonight will consist of last minute packing and chatting on the phone with her about weekend plans. I’ll be posting daily over on my Instagram and Snapchat so add me on both because you don’t want to miss out on our fun adventures. Snapchat name: amsblog.
NYC is so dreamy to me, I plan on moving there in two years once I graduate college. I seriously dream of the day I can walk outside of my apartment and take the subway to central park or fifth avenue and just stroll down the city with my French Bulldog. (Can you tell I daydream and plan my future a little too much?) haha. Something about New York just screams that you can make all dreams happen. I know it’s hard in that city, and it can be lonely and cut throat, but put your mind to something, go for it and you might make it there 😉 Speaking of dreamy, this skirt. It’s stunning. The best part? It’s under $30 and it feels like a $100 skirt with its silky fabric. This was my first time trying out a midi skirt on my body type and I fell in love. I got to twirl around all day in it and I felt like such a little girl going to a broadway show or something. I kept the feminine look going with a light lacy top and the cutest gold buckle block heels. I wanted to bring this exact look to NYC with me this weekend but unfortunately it’s going to be a bit chilly for us there 🙁 I think midi skirts are so girly and fit most body types. Short girls, these skirts may not compliment your length as they tend to cut off your legs and make you look shorter, but for my tall babes, go get you a midi skirt ASAP. I would size up in this exact skirt if you get it, it runs a little small in the waist.
Who doesn’t love a super feminine and dreamy clothing article every once in awhile?
Thanks for stopping by today, remember to follow me on social media for some major NYC fun.

TRAVEL OUTFIT DETAILS:
Happy Monday friends!
I’m down to the final week of freshman year. It’s so bitter sweet…. like I’m truly so excited to be home a few months in the city again and be working, working out, and blogging more but at the same time, Lubbock has become my home and my friends here have become my family. I see my 5 best friends all day, every day and the fact that we will be separated for 3 months literally kills me. 🙁 I’m so used to living on my own and doing my own thing I think it will be weird to live at home again for a few months. But, it’s the last summer and long period of time that I will ever live at home the rest of my life which is also really depressing lol. Life is changing so much!!
What I’m most excited for this summer is all of the trips I have planned. I have saved my own money to be able to fly myself to different places and pay for everything on my own. I have some super exciting destinations planned and I will most definitely keep y’all updated through it all 🙂
So, travel. It’s an amazing thing. When traveling, it’s always fun to dress the part though with the perfect travel outfit. I love a good ripped jean and lounge top when on the airplane. But, sometimes when I know that the second I get off the plane I’ll be headed to do something, I try to find a travel outfit for that occasion as lazy as I can. Body suits are in right now, and I LOVE it. They’re perfect for travel and the best to wear with high waisted shorts because you aren’t worried about tucking in your shirt and situating it. Personally, I would throw on a nice long cardigan with this travel outfit to take on the cold plane, and voila; I’m ready to go right when I get off! This body suit is fun for the day and playful for the night. I love the criss cross detail, and the white ripped shorts make it a little more relaxed. I adore my snake skin slip on shoes for on the go and of course gotta throw on a nice baseball hat. I carry my Tory Burch Tote EVERYWHERE with me too. It has a nice laptop compartment and separated sides so that this Type-A girl can have an organized bag. I think comfort is your first priority when traveling and then you can add in little pieces, like a bodysuit, to change things up to your travel outfit that allow you to be fully ready to take on a day at your destination. Most everything in this outfit is from Topshop… they have the best summer selection!
Where are y’all traveling to this summer!?

Hi Y’all! I’m down to the final week of school. After this week, I won’t have class and I’ll have all next week to study for my two final exams. Can’t believe my freshman year is coming to an end.
One of the things I’ve learned this year is how fast your money goes. For a girl who lives and breathes beauty and fashion…. It’s been a tough year of no money to support new clothes and makeup haha! I must say, whenever my work paychecks came in and I budgeted the amount I would need, I would see how much extra money I had left and put it together to purchase a new affordable outfit. I was constantly drawn to ASOS. Mostly, because it gives all students 10% off. You just enter in your school email and voila, 10% off every time you order 😉 #you’rewelcome
ASOS also has a wide range of very affordable pieces as well as clothes that are more on the three digit range. They have a wide selection for any style and every piece I’ve ever received from them, I love. It’s amazing quality and very in trend.
With spring and summer, I love a good pair of white jeans. I was on the hunt for a ripped skinny jean pair and of course, ASOS saves the day. We also know how much ruffles have been in the spotlight so I grabbed this adorable white ruffled top. I can see myself pairing this easy-going top with a cute flirty skirt this summer. I love colors, but when I’m feeling like a neutral during the warmer months, I gravitate towards white. It’s clean and simple so therefore, I’m wearing it. White on white especially gives you an all around clean and slimming look.
Y’all will see this outfit and versions of it on repeat all summer, especially over on my Instagram.
Wishing y’all a fabulous day and upcoming weekend. Here’s to my last weekend in Lubbock as a freshman!
