Good hair days are one of the best days! Don’t y’all agree!? Today is my last day of long classes, thank the lord. I’m ready to be done done and DONE with this semester. Last night, Josh and I went to a christmas party together for my sorority and it has officially got me in the holiday spirit. I loosely curled my hair and I constantly get comments asking how I do my hair. So why not share a fun little tutorial too!
So, this is how I curl my shorter hair for loose, curled waves… and a side braid idea for future holiday parties.

Step One:
Pre-heat products are a huge part in the turnout of your hair. I use these three religiously.
Start with the heat protectant. I use the Schwarzkopf heat protectant, it smells SO heavenly and protects my hair from all of the heat I’m about to put on it.
Next, I spray the ends of my hair with a leave in conditioner. This is so my ends are especially protected and smooth before adding heat and a ton of hairspray!
Lastly, I use the Shwarzkopf hairspray which is one of my all time favorites! (I prefer it over every higher end hairspray!)
Step Two:
Now, for the curl, it’s as basic as can be.
I just only curl the bottom half of each strand. This is better especially for shorter hair than curling the whole entire strand of hair.
Yes, it’s that easy people! I use a wide barrel curling wand to get the loose curls as well, if that helps!
Step Three:
As for bangs, I curl all the way to my scalp, tightly, and then brush out the curl for a pretty tighter look at the front.
Step Four:
For the #basic braid. You just braid one side of your bangs, and pin it under a layer of hair to hide the bobby pins. It’s cute because it leaves you with a little braid sticking out.
Tease, Tease, Tease!! I use this old brush from Walmart to tease three top layers of my hair. Then, I tease the side of my head and bangs a LITTLE bit. Brush through the ends, and voila, you’re done.
(& don’t forget to hairspray the whole entire thing!!!)
I wanted to mention a quick stocking stuffer idea for y’all that is so fun and personable. Caseapp creates custom iPhone and custom laptop cases for you. I have one for my laptop and one for my phone. My phone case above was designed by me through their site and I love how I can make it how I want it. Even better, they’re giving AMS readers 20% off their orders with code: AUDREYMADISONSTOWEXMAS20
Great idea for a guy or girl. I know especially teenage boys love them! (I got my brother a gift from here for his birthday and he loved it so much!)
