I’ve been meaning to round up a few details from Ezra’s First Birthday party! Wow, what a year it’s been. The hardest most fulfilling role is one of a mother. I feel so blessed by this little boy daily. If you need a First Birthday party theme for the winter time, this Winter ONEderland theme was precious. We kept it as simple as possible too!
The Decor-
We did a cute little backdrop with two arches and balloons that one of my friends did for us. You could easily recreate this at home with Amazon balloons! This is the custom decal I ordered for the arch. One of the ‘welcome’ signs was this My First Year board. Etsy has precious options and I think it’s an adorable way to display the milestone photos. I mean after all, us moms put in WORK to get those may as well show them off haha. Plus I can use this for next baby too!
I printed out a TON of photos from Walgreens and hung them up throughout the house and framed a few for the table. I also snagged this Wintery-themed first year print out that I printed through Fedex.
I snagged the cedar garland we put on his high chair from Trader Joes at the time.
The Food-
We had his party at 2pm in the afternoon which I strategically picked that way people could eat lunch before. We kept it to sweets and I made this pigs in a blanket wreath as well as a snowman cheeseball that we served with crackers.
We had wintery water available and a hot cocoa bar! For the cakes: I ran to Whole Foods for their Chantilly Berry cake and added these pine trees on top. Cost me $54 for both cakes! And I had his cookies made at a local bakery.
For the Water: Mint & Cranberries
For the Snowman:
- 2 blocks of cream cheese (room temp)
- Shredded Mozzarella
- Ranch Seasoning
- Black peppercorn and carrot slice
Mix everything together, and form into little balls (use plastic wrap to help). Set aside in the fridge for a bit then add the eyes and nose. Serve with veggies or crackers!
Hot Cocoa Bar:
This is the insulated beverage dispenser I used. I made the hot cocoa on our stove and poured into the container. For the toppings:
- Peppermint bark
- Different types of marshmallows
- Crushed candy canes and full size candy canes
- Cinnamon sticks
- Shredded coconut
Oh baby cups I purchased. I used all of the Winter decor I already had to decorate the table around all of the food.
